Mas la boella
More of your own solar power in your
operations.

Mas La Boella uses solar power where it's needed: in hotel operations, restaurants, and at events. sonnenPro FlexStack stores energy and makes it available more predictably.
Solar Energy for Demanding Hotel Operations
Hotels, restaurants, and event venues have a high and often fluctuating energy demand. Kitchens, refrigeration, lighting, air conditioning, laundry, guest rooms, and events require a reliable power supply – throughout the day, in the evening, and often at night. This is precisely where Mas La Boella's energy concept in Tarragona makes a difference.
The hotel and restaurant has installed a photovoltaic system with approximately 403 kWp capacity, combined with two sonnenPro FlexStack energy storage systems. This provides a total storage capacity of about 990 kWh. As a result, the operation achieves a self-sufficiency rate of around 65% and generates approximately 540,000 kWh of renewable energy annually.
Store solar power when generated – use it when needed
The system is designed as an intelligent energy solution. During the day, the PV system generates renewable electricity, which is either used directly in hotel operations or temporarily stored in commercial battery units. This ensures energy availability even when the sun isn't shining – for instance, in the evening, at night, or during periods of low solar radiation.
For Mas La Boella, this means: The self-generated solar power is not just produced, but actively utilized. Instead of feeding unused surplus energy back into the grid, it can be deployed later within their own operations – precisely when energy demand is highest.

Less Grid Reliance, More Control Over Energy Costs
Especially in the hotel industry, peak loads can arise quickly: in the kitchen, during restaurant operations, at events, or due to parallel consumers in the building. The combination of a PV system and commercial storage helps to efficiently cushion these peaks and significantly reduce grid reliance.
This makes energy more predictable for Mas La Boella. Thanks to increased self-consumption of electricity, targeted storage use, and intelligent peak load management, dependence on the public grid decreases. At the same time, a clear economic advantage emerges – especially in times of rising and volatile energy prices.
Sustainability that also pays off economically
Beyond its economic impact, the system makes a significant contribution to decarbonizing hotel operations. The solution reduces CO₂ emissions by approximately 140 tons per year. This corresponds to the carbon sequestration of about 7,780 trees.
For hoteliers, restaurateurs, and real estate developers, the project impressively demonstrates: Sustainable energy supply is not just an ecological statement. It can also reduce operating costs, make investments more predictable, and secure the energy supply long-term.
The Result: Mas La Boella uses solar power not only for generating renewable energy, but as part of an intelligent overall system. With a PV system, sonnenPro FlexStack, and smart energy storage, a solution is created that makes hotel operations more reliable, independent, and economical.
